Clare has been getting some serious use out of her walking boots as she’s been travelling all around the country meeting fans and signing copies of her brand new book Walking Home: My Family and other Rambles.

In Walking Home Clare shares her stories of the paths she has walked and people she has met after reaching for her walking boots and heading out on an adventure.

To celebrate the publication of Walking Home, Clare has teamed up with Penguin Books to launch a spectacular Twitter competition.

You could win a pair of tickets to Clare’s unique blinkbox Books literary event with Kate Mosse and Caitlin Moran Saturday 4th October 2014, including up to £100 worth of travel expenses. Plus you’ll also get a signed hard back copy of Walking Home AND a pair of Joules Welly Print Wellington Boots.

All you have to do for your chance to win this incredible prize bundle is Tweet Clare a welfie – a picture of yourself wearing your wellies or walking boots –using #WalkingHomeWelfie.

Nine runners up will also win a pair of wellies and a signed copy of the book.

All entries will be entered into a prize draw and the winner and runners up selected at random.

The competition closes at midnight on Sunday 21st September, so what are you waiting for? Those boots were made for walking!

By entering this promotion all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.

The Promoter is offering those who enter this promotion a chance to win:

Runners-up prize for 9 winners: 1 x signed hardback of Walking Home by Clare Balding, 1 x pair of Joules Welly Print Wellington Boots (RRP £39.95)

The winner can expect to receive their Joules wellington boots and signed hardback of Walking Home within 30 days of the competition close.

The winner will be compensated up to £100 for travel to the blinkbox Books event expenses on production of valid travel receipts.

This prize draw is open to UK residents only, ages 18 and above, excluding employees and their immediate families of Penguin Random House, their agents, third parties, or anyone professionally connected with the promotion. One entry per household.

1 first-prize winner and 9 runners-up will be selected at random from all correct entries on Monday 22nd September 2014. The winner(s) will be contacted by their twitter handle and asked to direct message their address details. If a winner fails to respond within 3 days of this notification, a redraw will take place from the remaining valid entries to select a new winner. If any winner declines a prize or fails to respond within the required period, they forfeit any right to the prize.

The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Promoter cannot take responsibility for any prizes lost or damaged in the post.

The prize is non-refundable, non-transferable and non-exchangeable and there is no cash or other alternative is available, but the Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
